The Revival Hymn
The Revival Hymn is a message from clips of various sermons from Ian Paisley, Leonard Ravenhill, Paris Reidhead, Duncan Campbell, A.W. Tozer, T. Austin Sparks. A moving message which I highly recommend.
Isaiah 30:15 #2 Repentance
Isaiah 30:15
“For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said,
'In repentance and rest you will be saved,
In quietness and trust is your strength.'
But you were not willing.”
Repentance
Come now, and let us reason together says the Lord.
Though your sins are as scarlet, they will be as white as snow;
Though they are red like crimson,They will be like wool.”
Isaiah 1:18
This reasoning will show people the importance of repentance. We don't stand a chance with God and don't have a clue what life should be about worth His leading and guidance.
There is no value in sin for the long run. Sin brings pleasure for a season. But in the end it is bitter. Why sow the seeds of bitterness and not look to God for the way of life. God has made us a certain way and has given us guidelines on how to live. If we live according to the ways of the world we are living in direct opposition to how God want us to live.
The product of living like this is sin. It will not benefit you, your family or those you know. God made us to live according to His ways. Repentance is a refreshing way to change for the better.
And repentance is not just a one time thing at salvation. It should be a daily thing. A cleansing for the past day and receiving instructions for the coming day. Jesus will forgive when we come to Him confessing our wrongs.
Reasoning with God about our wayward lifestyle, is an interesting concept. This is what God is offering. Express to God why you are living the way you are. What does God offer in return for our repentance? He offers peace. He offers contentment. He offers a purpose that lasts. Why continue in a life that brings death when we can have true life. A life of faith which brings joy.
Jesus mentioned it in the Lord's prayer.
“Forgive us our debts as we forgive those who have trespassed against us.”
Sin separates us from God and quenches the Holy Spirit. Repentance brings us back into unity with the Father. But with repentance comes the refreshing of the Spirit. Acts 3:19 “Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord;”
A humble heart is willing to admit wrong. A proud heart doesn't admit error. To say you are without sin is to lie. 1 John 1:10 “If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar and His word is not in us.”
One of the best verses on repentance is Psalm 51:10-13
Some say they have done so much bad that God would not be willing to forgive them. God will forgive any sin. He forgave Manasseh the most evil king of Judah. Manasseh was the reason Judah went into captivity. Manasseh repented of his sin of worshiping other gods, along with a list of many other sins.
Others can't forgive themselves not believing God would love them. This is just plain ignorant. Jesus is a friend of sinners. He did not come to bring the righteous but sinners to repentance.
We do not repent only from what we should not be doing, but also from not doing what we should be doing.
To not repent is to not be alive in the Spirit. For if we don't repent we have quenched the spirit.

”Give God the holy one of Israel, Worship and Praise
The first thing we do when we come to God is to worship Him. That is the way it is presented in the Lord's prayer. It is the way to enter into His presence. Ps 100. So let us worship Him and honor Him for all that He is.
He is our healer and savior.
He is our provider and protector.
He is our guide and path.
He is the author and finisher of our faith.
He is the alpha and omega of Christianity.
He is the light in the darkness.
He is the bread for our substance.
He is the water that quenches our thirst.
He is our shepherd that guides us.
He is our friend.
And He is Lord
Jesus you are the wisdom in a crazy world. You are our companion in a lonely world. You are our guide in a world lost in fleshly and intellectual pursuits.
God I ask you to help us understand this passage of Scripture which we are reading now. Make it real in our life and help us to know you more each day. Micah 6:8

Names of God
In Step with the Lord listed 230 names of God in her post.
This list is well worth the study. Descriptive names signify the character of the person.

Serving God Through Trials
God's light coming through in the cold.
I have been listening to K P Yohannan and the ministry he heads called Gospel for Asia. Here is the link to the mp3's I have been listening to.
And here is an interesting interview of a missionary Manja Tamang that had been in prison for over 9 years. He maintained a strong witness and his wife Rati carried on the ministry.
These people are today's heroes of the faith.

Revive the Spirit
So it was 2 days in a row that I watched and listened about men who lived by faith and not by direct income. Not there is something wrong with working for a living. We are told to do that in the Bible. Ephesians 5:18; 2 Thessalonians 3:10
But I want to live by faith in what I do. These 2 men went through testing as they lived by faith. So I went over the list of verses I had written in my Bible on testing. I came to getting drunk is dissipation. Ephesians 5:18 I went to the dictionary because dissipation is not a word I would use. Dissipation is a waste. When we do something that is a waste we are quenching the Spirit of God.
Watching football was what I did last night. I don't think watching football is a sin. I don't think hobbies or activities for fun are a sin. But they are not productive for me in living for Christ. It says in Hebrews 12:1 to lay aside the encumbrance that would keep us from following Christ.
In my endeavor to follow Christ, I ask in prayer what should I be doing at each opportunity. Last night I felt watching football would be good. And afterwards, still being out of it spiritually, (PS my team lost) I asked how does one become revived in the spirit?
I ask the question, do we revive the spirit by pampering the flesh?
1. Lay aside the things of dissipation.
2. Be revived according to the Word of God. Psalm 119:25, Psalm 119:32; Psalm 119:37, Psalm 119:40, Psalm 119:50, Psalm 119:107, Psalm 119:154, Psalm 119:156, Psalm 119:159
3. Review past studies; IE hygrade the Bible. Read and go over in the Bible what God has shown you in the past.
4. Matthew 4:4 We live because of what God speaks to us. Prayer and quietness before God allows us to hear Him, as we go over the Scriptures.
5. Put on a garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness. Isaiah 61:3
6. Humble your heart before God; Isaiah 57:15; James 4:6,7; James 4:8,9,10
2 Chronicles 16:9 God will show himself strong to those whose heart is completely His. God tests us and when our heart is pure He will show Himself strong on our behalf.
If I am able to revive my spirit by pampering the flesh, is it my spirit that is revived or is it my flesh/soul? If I am revived by pampering the flesh, am I doing works for God in my strength?

Read 2 ch OT; 2 ch NT 1 ch Psalms daily = OT once NT twice Psalms twice.
I read these 7 categories in concurrent cycles. Romans Jude much faster than the Law.
