Sowing and Reaping

We always will have victory in life or death, so keep serving.
“Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your toil is not in vain in the Lord.” 1 Corinthians 15:58 NASB

Share good things with the one who teaches you, and you will be rewarded.
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary. Galatians 6:9 NASB

God will cause what you have lost to be restored.
“Thus says the LORD, "Restrain your voice from weeping And your eyes from tears; For your work will be rewarded," declares the LORD, "And they will return from the land of the enemy.” Jeremiah 31:16 NASB

Don't weep for what you have lost, but do weep for people that are lost.
“Those who sow in tears shall reap with joyful shouting.
6 He who goes to and fro weeping, carrying his bag of seed,
Shall indeed come again with a shout of joy, bringing his sheaves with him. “ Psalm 126:5,6 NASB

Spread out your investments and the increase will find you.
Cast your bread on the surface of the waters, for you will find it after many days.
2 Divide your portion to seven, or even to eight, for you do not know what misfortune may occur on the earth. Eccl 11:1 NASB

God has good things for us that accompany salvation.
“For God is not unjust so as to forget your work and the love which you have shown toward His name, in having ministered and in still ministering to the saints. And we desire that each one of you show the same diligence so as to realize the full assurance of hope until the end,” Hebrews 6:10,11 NASB

There is a reward for sowing righteousness.
“The wicked earns deceptive wages,
But he who sows righteousness gets a true reward.” Proverbs 11:18 NASB

Lend but don't borrow. Help the poor in all they need.
“ You shall generously give to him, and your heart shall not be grieved when you give to him, because for this thing the Lord your God will bless you in all your work and in all your undertakings.” Deuteronomy 15:10

Proverbs 19:17
Whoever is kind to the poor lends to the LORD, and he will reward them for what they have done.

Isaiah 32:20
how blessed you will be, sowing your seed by every stream, and letting your cattle and donkeys range free.

Rash Speaking

Shagbark hickory nuts

Psalm 106:32,33
"They also provoked Him to wrath at the waters of Meribah,
So that it went hard with Moses on their account;
Because they were rebellious against His Spirit,
He spoke rashly with his lips."

Moses being a mature man of God was punished by speaking rashly against the Israelites, when they complained to him about not having water.

Moses said Num 20:10,11 "Listen now you rebels; shall we bring forth water for you out of this rock? Then Moses lifted up his hand and struck the rock twice with his rod and water came forth abundantly."

1st God told Moses to speak to the rock, and he struck it.
2nd He called the people rebels.
3rd He said that he and Aaron would bring out the water.

Because of this disobedience Moses couldn't go to the promised land. Deut. 3:25,26 The promised land is a type for us to receive the promises of the Bible in our lives.

When we speak rashly or in anger which would not be in faith, we negate the work of the Word of God that is promising us answers that we are seeking.

The word of God is like seed and it needs to be cared for. Our heart is what receives the seed. A hard heart is like hard soil. A soft and broken heart towards God is like tilled soil to receive the seed, God's word.

Brokenness is saying we are nothing without Jesus. Brokenness is looking to God and not ourselves. It is saying we can't operate without the help of Jesus. Phil 4:13 a common Scripture says, "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me."

We are able to leap over a wall with Jesus and can't climb over it without Him.

Repentance that is just of the flesh is sorry we got caught and sorry we look bad to others. And sorry we are missing out on the blessings of godliness. Yet not willing to take the steps to change from self indulgent to sold out for Jesus.

Lord hep me turn from speaking for myself and speak for you with my whole heart.

Sowing and Reaping

God is my source web page devoted to this subject.

Article on how Todd Baily came to the revelation that God is his source.

David Bostick wrote on this subject.

God is our source: article from Oral Roberts U.

Here is an outline on God is our source.

These God is our source articles could lead people astray if they only consider being rich as from God. God calls some to sickness for a time (the man at the pool of Bethesda and Job) and some to a life of poverty for a while (Job). Jesus asked Peter to die for Him. And Paul wrote Phil 4:19 from a jail cell. Many are the afflictions of the righteous but God delivers them out of them all. Let us not look at our circumstances to decided if we are in God's will. Let us look to Jesus and follow Him wherever He leads us.

Because of the miss use of the teaching of sowing and reaping, many will not teach sowing and reaping. This is a shame because this is part of the life of faith. Don't throw the baby out with the bath water! God wants us to walk by faith not by sight (circumstances). A life of faith is not easy, but it IS rewarding. It IS exciting. And it IS life in the Spirit. It is a life abandoned to service of God without thought to the lusts of the flesh.

Are we willing to deny ourselves, suffer and die for the sake of the gospel? Are we ready to endure persecution? Let us keep our eyes on Jesus and the problems of this world will pale compared to the rewards of following Jesus.

Let us endure the trials that come our way to receive the crown of righteousness that allows us to have victory over the trials. James 1:12. Our faith is built on going through the trails. Faith, it is true, comes from hearing the Bible, but when we truly hear, we will speak and obey. Trials prove our faith. And strengthen our faith.
