Healing in Communion

The Resurrection Is The Proof

John 14:1 “Don't let your heart be troubled, you believe in God believe also in Me.”

Healing is freely given to followers of Jesus. Jesus said repent for the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand. Repentance frees us to receive the blessings from God. The teaching on Communion explains that no repentance is the reason for not receiving from God the promise of healing. Come to God with pure motives and judge yourselves that you are right before God..

Repentance is not only turning from what we have done and instead to follow God. Repentance also is being active in our faith and accept what God has given to us. Don't neglect the gift of healing given to all believers. Remember what Christ has done for us. It was no small thing which He did. Accept and believe the hard work of Love Jesus did for us. We are invited to accept His work on the cross.

Remember what God has done for us at the cross. His body was broken for our healing and His blood was shed for our Spiritual healing. “This I recall to mind , therefore I have hope.”Lam 3:21 Remember what has been done for us on the cross and then hope will arise. Faith takes hold of hope and receives from God. Receive healing from Jesus.

Romans 8:11 Healing

“But if the Spirit of Him who raised Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He who raised Christ Jesus from the dead will also give life to your mortal bodies through His Spirit who dwells in you.”

Verse 11 is a power verse. The Spirit of God the Spirit of power will give life to us.

We have established that the Spirit lives in us. Especially if we are awake in the spirit and have put our minds on the things of the Spirit and removed the things of the flesh from our mind.

Remember that we don't remove things from our mind by saying I won't think or do bad things. We put away the things of the flesh by instead putting our minds on the things of the Spirit and then doing them.

The work that the Spirit does in our spirit, will also be done in our body. Do we believe that? Like all promises, they are effective when we believe. John 11:40 “ … Did I not say to you that if you believe, you will see the glory of God?”

This belief is not done by keeping rules. 2 Cor 3:6 the letter kills but the Spirit gives life. We have the life giving Spirit within us. The letter speaks of rules. We don't live by rules, but by God's Spirit, as it moves us by the word of faith and love. Romans 10:8

Instead of rules we yield our minds to the life giving Spirit. John 5:21 The Son gives life to whom He wishes. John 5:24 When we hear and believe the words of the Son we have this life. The sower parable teaches us to hear God's words and do them.  Mark 4:3-20; Luke 8:4-15; Matthew 13:3-23  Our work is to believe God's words. John 6:29 To believe is not saying we understand the Scriptures. It is a mindset of relying on them. I rely on my car to get me to work.  In the same way I rely on God to guide me and show me the path of life. Life flows from belief. Why work for belief? There are many voices vying for our attention. Shut out the voices that speak against God's directions. And listen to what God is saying. Listen to the Holy Spirit within.

We listen to God when we read the Bible with expectation of Him speaking to us. John 6:63 The words I have spoken to you are spirit and they are life. God's words bring life. And we have the teacher of God's words living within us. The Holly Spirit brings life as we act on His leading. Romans 8:14

Romans 4:17 Believe and call into existence, what God has promised. We don't look at death within, but we look at the promise that the Holy Spirit brings to us. When we believe God we can speak with power and call into being what God has ordered.

As I have been meditating on this verse, giving life to your body means your body has to be dead first. I always thought of my fleshly body as being under a curse and the Spirit brings health to us. And this is true. The promise of health is there. But also we need to die to ourselves that life from God may grow within. The dying to our wants is needed if we are to be free to live for the purpose we were made for. Galatians 2:20

Giving life to our mortal bodies speaks to our ability to do what we were called to do. Ephesians 2:10 We can believe God to do what we have been called to do. We can believe God for healing so we can do the work God has called us to.

Now what is this life? Is it spiritual life or physical health? It is both. Just as we are saved and healed at the cross we walk in salvation and healing today. We are not saved to go to heaven only. We are saved for a new life to be lived for Jesus.

How are we to walk today? By the word of God. It is the Word Of Life. Romans 10:8 word of faith. Confession comes with faith Romans 10:8-10 If the word is in our mouth  and in our heart it is active. If it is not in our mouth and in our heart it is not active and just produces arrogance. Arrogance comes from knowledge without action in love. 1 Corinthians 8:1 For if we know but have not the experience of action we don't realize our need of the Spirit to walk it out. With the knowledge of our need we remain humble. So action keeps us humble, and this humbleness brings more grace. James 4:6 Grace gives us the ability to do what we are called for. It starts with obedience to God's word.

Now there can be action without faith. How do we know the difference?  Is there peace? Is there a motive of love? Is there joy? Fear will destroy faith. Perfect love casts out fear for there is no fear in love. Fear deflates faith. How do we handle a doubt or fear? 1 John 4:18 It is by quoting the word of God and deciding to live by the word and not by our fears. 2 Corinthians 10:3-5 So faith is moving in peace in love and casting out the thought of fear.

Romans 8:11 can also talk about the promise of resurrection. We have the hope of resurrection from the Scriptures. Scriptures on resurrection – Phil 3:21; 1 Thes 4:14; 1 Cor 6:14; 15:20-23; 2 Cor 4:14 Notice it is the mortal body that is being brought to life. In our resurrection the mortal is replace with the immortal. “For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.” 1 Corinthians 15:53 People that say this verse does not refer to physical healing never bring this point up  of mortal putting on the immortality. The resurrection brings the immortality. Healing beings the mortal to life to function. So the Spirit within us will bring healing to our physical bodies as we believe.

Where is the contrast of Romans 8:11 “But if”?

Our responding to God in righteousness allows God's Spirit to live and be active within us.  When the Spirit is within, He will give life to all three parts of our being when we respond in faith.  Verse 10 talks of life to our spirit. Verse 11 speaks of life to our mortal bodies. Our salvation has provided for a spiritual salvation, John 3:16 a change of our soul, Romans 12:1,2 and the promise of physical healing Isaiah 53:6; Matthew 8:17; 1 Peter 2:24.

The chapter talks of all three parts of our being. Our soul, our spirit and our body. We are reborn at salvation making all things new. 2 Corinthians 5:17; Isaiah 43:18-19; Revelation 21:5

We are anointed by the Holy Spirit, and the Holy Spirit has been given to us as a pledge at Salvation
Ephesians 1:13, and from the baptism in the Holy Spirit. This passage is a prophecy of the Christ. (in Hebrew the Christ is the Messiah).

The Holy Spirit within illuminates the Scriptures, making them highlighted in our spirits. As we have this light of God within us, the darkness that comes against us will be destroyed. It is belief in the light that will chase the darkness away. Darkness is the absence of light. When God's light shines within darkness is gone. The works of Satan are darkness. John 3:20 The works of God are light and Satan can't stand the light.  When we have God's light Satan can't touch us. 1 John 5:18; Psalm 91:10 Jesus came to destroy the works of the Devil. Acts 10:38 “You know of Jesus of Nazareth, how God anointed Him with the Holy Spirit and with power, and how He went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.”

We are sent as Jesus was sent. So the ability that Jesus had, we have now in the present.  John 20:21 We can pray for people to be healed. Mark 11:24 We can command the sickness to leave. Mark 11:23 And we can live in the blessing and sickness won't touch us. Psalm 91:10; 1 John 5:18

Healing is Promised for All.

1 Peter 2:24 Healing was a done deal at the cross.

Ps 103:3 all sickness removed

Deut 7:15 all sickness removed

Acts 10:38 Jesus healed all with no accounts of Jesus turning down healing request.

Mark 16:18 We are told to lay hands on the sick and they will be healed, when we believe.

Matt 10:8 We are commanded to heal.

2 Corinthians 1:20 all the promises are yes and amen with Jesus.

Romans 8:32 We receive with Jesus all things, no good thing is withheld.

John 15:7 We can ask for whatever we wish as we abide.

Psalm 34:19 Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord him out of them all.

Ps 91:10 no sickness where we live as we abide.

Ps 91:3 If we are trapped God will get us out.

1 John 3:22 God answers all our prayers if we obey and please God.

James 5:14 Is any are sick? It's God's will to heal anyone.

John 14:14 All prayers are answered in Jesus name.

Gal 3:13,14 We are free from the curse, and sickness is part of that.

The promise for healing shows the problem of not being healed is not on God's end. We should seek God for where the problem is if there is no healing.

The Pain Is Gone

 photo IMG_2833_zpsc072e640.jpg

I was ministering to a homeless guy who goes to our church at times. We went to McDonald’s for breakfast. The cashier stated her legs and feet were killing her as she had to stand while she worked all the time.

I told her Jesus heals and He can heal her. Would she like for me to pray for her? She agreed and I laid my hand on her shoulder and prayed for the pain to go away in Jesus name.

We then bought our food and went to eat. When we were leaving I waved to her and said good bye. With a big smile she said thanks for praying the pain is gone.

Praise the Lord. He is good.

2 Cor 1:20 “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”

Sermon by Garth Wiebe

 photo 46e95703-84de-4412-af7c-f5ee45ff5f5e_zps376ba044.jpg
You lay hands on the sick and expect them to get well. Not not next week. Expect them to get well now. Because sickness is an enemy. it is not from God it is from the devil. Luke 10:19 He has given us authority to trample on snakes and scorpions. and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will harm you.

In a week I will be gone. I expect to take nothing with me. because I don't have anything that you don't have. Everything I have you have. Why? Because we have the same Holy Spirit. The only difference is whether you believe that. Jn 14:12 says we can do greater things. It will be my great joy to see you prosper and healthy, and to see the demons gone. And even raise the dead. You do not need an expert for that. Because Jesus has all authority. And He is in you. Amen.

This week you must stop going to experts for healing . Go to each other. Your pastor and your elders. And they will hands on you and they will bless you. I am just repeating the words o God. Eph 1:3 We are blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly realm. And if we are blessed in heavenly realms we are blessed on earth. Because we know the prayer that says the kingdom come they will be done on earth as it is in heaven. You know this prayer. In all cultures we know it. Thy kingdom come Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven. Matt 6:10 Jesus will come and declare it. So we do as Jesus did. God has already blessed us. He has paid for your sins. So He is not angry with us anymore. We has his favor. Which is what grace means. And so we live like we believe this. Because God is good all the time. He is waiting for us to believe that. So we are blessed. You are blessed. Amen

He was never in need. He always walked in authority. He always walked in confidence. And He was not afraid of anything. He did not know fear. When he was speaking in his own home town. He said some things that made the town people mad at him. He was not afraid to speak the truth. And they were so mad they took him to the cliff to throw him down. While they were doing that. ... He walked with confidence. And when they got to the cliff to throw him down. He turned around and walked through the crowd and walked away. Because He knew His time had not come. He still had work to do on the earth.

It was after the Passover that He was to die. Another time His disciples told him that Herod wants to kill you. And He said go tell that fox, that I will proclaim the kingdom of God in this village and that village. His time had not come. He was not afraid. Now you walk that confidence . Proclaim the blessings over each other.

When you see someone who is questioning this, say, no I proclaim victory over you in the name of Jesus. Because you are confident and your words are powerful. When you see a person sick. You say be healed in Jesus name. That is a blessing. Sickness is a course. Jesus took upon himself the whole curse. So we are proclaiming a truth. You are proclaiming the word of God is true.

God Offers Healing for All

Ex 15:26 Speaks of God not letting the Israelites have any of the diseases that Egypt had. I am looking for promises in the Bible that show that we are free from disease and sickness according to the promises of the Bible.

God promises are for our benefit. He will do His part when we do our part.

Deut 7:15 God promises to remove from us all sickness. This is a great promise that we have that what ever we come down with we can go to God and He will remove them. Some will say you are taking Scripture from the Old Testament. That is true but the New Covenant is better than the old and so what is in the old will also be in the new. And God will add to the new.

It says that all Scripture is for our instruction. We are healed at the cross and and so the Old Testament is still valid for our instruction.

Proverbs 4:20-22 is one of the most interesting healing Scriptures I have come across. It says:
My son, give attention to my words;
Incline your ear to my sayings.
Do not let them depart from your sight;
Keep them in the midst of your heart.
For they are life to those who find them
And health to all their body.

God's words and sayings are like medicine, except they don't have any side effects!

As we meditate on the Scripture promises we receive the benefits of what they say. Keep your mind on them and don't let doubt come in and destroy the idea you are contemplating.

The more I meditate on them the more I get out of them.
The Word of God changes things. God's word is not just ideas. The Scriptures are alive and can affect life in the here and now. Heb 4:12

Psalm 105:37 not one stumbled. This verse is talking about the people leaving Egypt and not one of them stumbled or to say it another way no one was sick or weak. NOT ONE. What a record! This God who kept all Israel strong can do the same for us.

God is not a respecter of persons. What he did for one person He will do for another. We can trust Him in all we do.

Divine Healing and How to Keep It

by A B Simpson - A tract from Pilgrim tract society

Keep right with God

Keep Reckoning
Live by faith not by sight. Don't watch your symptoms but trust the Lord and His Word.
Live by dead reckoning. (sailor takes reading from sun and goes on a bearing during many weeks of clouds)
We take God at His word even when we don't see anything.
Col 2:6
Keep out of yourself and keep expecting the Lord to come through for you.

Keep receiving
Abide in the Lord and His Word
Keep drawing on the life of the Spirit

Keep out of Yourself
Don't watch your feelings
Don't note the up's and downs of your case
Get saved from your body and feelings

Keep Sweet
The joy of the Lord is your strength
Anxious thoughts hurts soul and body.
