Word of His Grace

Acts 20:32
Now I commend you to God and the word of His grace, which is able to build you up, and give you the inheritance among all those who are sanctified.

Word of His grace.
Acts 14:3 …. Therefore they spent a long time there, speaking boldly with reliance upon the Lord, who was testifying to the word of His grace granting that signs and wonders be done by their hands.

Paul and Barnabas were speaking boldly. Who was testifying of the word of His grace? Was it Paul or the Lord? It was the Lord by the signs and wonders done by the hands of Paul and Barnabas.

What did they do? They spent a long time there. They testified. They testified boldly. They testified boldly with reliance upon the Lord. And the Lord was working with them. The Lord was working with Paul and Barnabas as they laid hands on the people. There were signs and wonders being done by the hands of Paul and Barnabas by the power of God.

Is there power in God? Does the word have power? Yes, yes. Do we have this ability to minister to others with this power?

Mark 16:17-20 “These signs will accompany those who have believed: in My name they will cast out demons, they will speak with new tongues; 18 they will pick up serpents, and if they drink any deadly poison, it will not hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.”
19 So then, when the Lord Jesus had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven and sat down at the right hand of God. 20 And they went out and preached everywhere, while the Lord worked with them, and confirmed the word by the signs that followed.”

So who can lay hands on the sick for recovery? It is those who believe. V16 These signs will accompany those who have believed!!! It is not the special minister. It is anyone who believes. And what are we to believe? The word of His grace. God's word brings grace for us to minister.

What are the examples of this. Paul and Barnabas were ministering to the Lord in ch 13 of Acts. They were led to go and obeyed and went. And God was with them in power.

Acts 20:24 – testify of the gospel of the grace of God.
The gospel is the good news of God to man. It is explaining the good news of God to man. This word of explaining is God's grace. There is power in the gospel. Rom 1:16 … gospel of Christ which is the power of God unto salvation.

The Scriptures on salvation have the power to bring salvation to the hearers.

I   am reminded that as we go from grace to grace we also go from faith to faith. God's grace comes from the Scriptures. And God's faith comes from the Scriptures.

John  1:16 "For of His fullness we have all received, and grace upon grace."
Romans 1:17 "For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, "BUT THE RIGHTEOUS man SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

So let us not neglect the word of God. For it is the word of God's grace which will build us up to receive the inheritance.

Two Frogs

Two frogs fell into a can of cream,
or so it has been told.
The sides of the can were shiny and steep,
The cream was deep and cold.
“Oh, what's the use,”said number one,
“It's plain no help's around.
“Good-bye, my friend, good-bye, sad world”
and weeping still he drowned.

But number two, of sterner stuff,
dog paddled in surprise.
The while he licked his creamy lips
and blinked his creamy eyes.
“I'll swim at least a while,” he thought,
or so it has been said.
It really wouldn't help the world
if one more frog were dead.
An hour or more he kicked and swam,
not once he stopped to mutter.
Then hopped out from the island he had
made of fresh churned butter.

The Pain Is Gone

 photo IMG_2833_zpsc072e640.jpg

I was ministering to a homeless guy who goes to our church at times. We went to McDonald’s for breakfast. The cashier stated her legs and feet were killing her as she had to stand while she worked all the time.

I told her Jesus heals and He can heal her. Would she like for me to pray for her? She agreed and I laid my hand on her shoulder and prayed for the pain to go away in Jesus name.

We then bought our food and went to eat. When we were leaving I waved to her and said good bye. With a big smile she said thanks for praying the pain is gone.

Praise the Lord. He is good.

2 Cor 1:20 “For as many as are the promises of God, in Him they are yes; therefore also through Him is our Amen to the glory of God through us.”

Jesus is Jehovah

Isaiah 26:4 KJV "Trust ye in the LORD for ever: for in the LORD JEHOVAH is everlasting strength:"

2 Peter 3:18 KJV  "But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen."

Ephesians 4:5 KJV  "One Lord, one faith, one baptism,"

So if Jehovah is Lord and Jesus is Lord, and there is only one Lord, then Jesus is Jehovah!

In all your Ways Acknowledge Him

 photo IMG_0805_zps06a6cfbc.jpg

You never know where you will find a glory nugget when you are in the search. The following is simply a footnote in a commentary on Hebrews by William R. Newell (1868-1956)
Many years ago, in the Moody Institute, it fell to me to direct the afternoon and evening gathering of all the students. Together with my helpers, some eleven men, I made the celebration a missionary one. There was manifest blessing.
When all was over, at about ten at night, I said to the young men who had helped, “Let us go into my office and thank the Lord.” We went in and knelt to pray. It was in none of our minds to remain long, but just to thank the Lord ere we retired.
But it pleased God to take the meeting in charge. His Spirit filled us. In a few minutes we were on our faces praising God and weeping with joy. How His love melted and overwhelmed us! All sense of distance from God, yea, all sense of self, was gone. Only measureless joy in God, as we knew ourselves the objects of His intimate kindness and love, remained.
There we were until half past three in the morning! And when we dispersed, we were more refreshed, in body and spirit, than at the beginning. After the brethren left, I marked stain after stain of tears upon the floor, where men had wept with joy. Four men, if not five, became missionaries as a result of that night’s visitation.
God may not at all times overwhelm us, as on that occasion, with a sense of His blessedness and love. We walk by faith, not by sight (lit., appearance, vision, or experience). But at all times, under all circumstances, God is love, and believers are invited to come boldly to a throne, a throne of GRACE!
